Akecheta Morningstar, born in 1968 in Canton, Mississippi, grew up with his mother and excelled in school and sports. He attended Jackson State University but initially left before completing his degree, later returning despite mental health challenges.
Over his career, Morningstar held a wide range of roles, from legal advocate to custodian, demonstrating resilience despite his mental health challenges. He became an ordained minister in 2000 and has been married to Linda Faye English Johnson for over 30 years. Together, they have three grown children, and his life reflects commitment to faith, family, and personal perseverance.
